Dear all, In a discussion, Han-Jia and I concluded that it is not possible to record the current mediated by a gap junction directly at the synapse. Instead, we implemented a workaround. The postsynaptic neuron (a custom neuron model implemented by Han-Jia) has an internal variable which contains the sum of all incoming currents. By adding this variable to the to the recordables list of the neuron model, it can be recorded using a multimeter. This temporary solution was sufficient in this case, as it was only needed for debugging purposes.
