Membership

The NEST Initiative is a non-profit member-based organization incorporated in Ecublens, VD, Switzerland, on 4 October 2012. Any natural (i.e., you as an individual) or legal (e.g., your company or university) person sharing and supporting the goals of the NEST Initiative can become a member of the Initiative.

The Initiative has three types of members:

  1. Community members are natural or legal persons who support the purpose of the association and the pursuit of its goals. Community members do not have the right to vote at the general assembly.
  2. Active members are natural persons who support the purpose of the association and the pursuit of its goals by active and continuous contributions to the joint software development. Active members enjoy full membership rights and obligations.
  3. Honorary members are natural or legal persons who have made outstanding contributions to the pursuit of the goals of the association. Honorary members do not have to pay member dues and do not have the right to vote at the general assembly.

The annual membership fee for community and active members of the NEST Initiative is currently CHF 25. Students, including doctoral students, are currently exempt from the membership fee. To join the NEST Initiative, please fill in and sign our Membership Application Form, scan it and send it to membership@nest-initiative.org. All membership applications will be reviewed by the Board of the NEST Initiative, which also decides whether you are eligible to be an active member. You will receive an invoice for your membership fee once you membership has been approved.
